The 1st President of The United States was a hemp farmer and had much appreciation of versatility of hemp.

As a farmer-politician he worked avidly to promote the reputation of this extraordinary plant and to improve it's culture.

The President understood and valued the commercial, medicinal and nutritional uses of hemp.

He also reportedly preferred to smoke hemp flowers, although no credible evidence is documented.

He and Thomas Jefferson, who disliked tobacco, are known to have exchanged gifts of smoking mixture.
